The Society for New Music in Edmonton respectfully acknowledges that our celebrations of creativity take place in Treaty Six Territory. amiskwaciy is the traditional gathering place of the the many indigenous peoples whose histories, languages, and cultures continue to influence and enrich our community.
We further acknowledge that the indigenous peoples of Treaty Six have established the principles for and been exemplars of the respectful and caring use of this land for the purposes of art, livelihood, and spirituality. New Music Edmonton is privileged to share the creativity of artists here. We present this work in a spirit of respect and indebtedness for the example set by indigenous peoples, with whom the tradition of meeting and sharing at amiskwaciy began.
New Music Edmonton is committed to honouring and respecting its role as participants in Treaty Six and join with all who live here and who visit amiskwaciy in reaffirming our responsibilities as Treaty Six people.
